Since I was very young I was painting, singing and admiring art, both passions of mine. Drawing, coloring and singing was always there nudging me. I would listen to Joan Baez and Judy Collins and learned to sing folk style. With an old tiny turn-table and record albums I would spend hours listening to their songs. Several years later my brother had a guitar and did nothing with it so my Mom gave it to me and I learned to play the guitar after taking lessons. But, never too far from me was the paint brush or pencil.

In 1977-1979 I attended school at the The Houston School of Commercial Art soon to become the Art Institute of Houston from where I graduated with an Associates degree in Commercial Art, and have been a Graphic Designer for 15+ years.

I studied watercolor painting under the tutelage of Arthur Turner from The Glassell School of Art in Houston. I continued to sing, took opera lessons from a teacher who was a mezzo soprano and learned opera singing and have written a few personal songs with my guitar. In 2005, I joined First Baptist of Houston choir to sing in the soprano section. But, painting seems to have grown stronger in me and my understanding of it and love of it too. ;-) But I keep singing! ;-).

I want to give a heartfelt thank you to Maureen who asked me to join her in this event. She has inspired me so much in so many areas. Being a little dormant with painting back in 2009, she encouraged me to paint and I began to produce many paintings from 2009 of November and 2010. I am grateful for her and her friendship, Thank you Maureen.
