I work at the University hospital of North-Norway, http://www.unn.no/ as a technical engineer. I’ve worked there since 1995.
My favorite place is Blokken in Vesterålen, situated in Sortland county, http://www.blaabyen.no/
This is my father’s birthplace, and my brother lives there now. We also have a small cottage by a lake here:
I enjoy photographing all kinds of nature motives. Macro photos of insects and flowers, animal life and landscape in general. I have no experience of portrait photographing.
But I like best the quest for the perfect Aurora photo. I’ve had hundreds of hours out in the cold, arctic winter night, hoping to get the perfect photo.
More of Aurora Borealis:
It seems like the tourists has found the Tromsø area is great for Aurora photographing.
Not all knows what it means to travel to the north of Norway during winter time. The temperature can often be as low as 10 - 12̊ C below zero in the Tromsø area, (costal climate). In the inland, just 1 – 2 hour driving from Tromsø, the temperature can get as low as -30̊ C.
A trip out for Aurora photographing can last for several hours.
And for those who are tempted to go here… Two things have to occur to get to see the Aurora.
