I graduated from doing art on the Etch-a-Sketch a few years ago. Seems no one wants to buy Etch-a-Sketch art, anyway. My camera has been a constant companion for most of my adult life, so I don't often get caught saying, "I wish I had brought my camera!" My favorite things to shoot are found in nature. Landscapes, skies and wildlife, especially when they can all be caught at the same time. A couple of years ago, Stanza patiently helped me get started with oil paints... it's the "old dog, new tricks" thing, but it seems that the Etch-a-Sketch skills transfer to using brushes and canvas. I must say that the oils have much better colour, and painting with lots of strokes is easier than using a continuous line. The problem is that I can't turn the canvas upside-down and shake it to erase it. While living in west-central British Columbia in Canada may have its limitations, it certainly provides me with all the scenes I need for my camera and my brushes.
